Before You Start
- Select Game: Find your game in the list. Check the color: Green (within 2hrs) | Yellow (2-4hrs) | Red (4+ hrs away)
- Check In Players: Go to Roster tab β Click player name (black highlight = checked in) β Assign jersey numbers
- Set Lineup: Click Flags button (bottom left) β Select starting lineup β Mark goalies with G button β Enter coach name to verify
Select Goalies
Step 1: Click on goalie name on Clock tab
Step 2: Goalie Change tab appears
Step 3: Select starting goalie for each team
Step 4: Confirm selection
π‘ Tip: If "No Goalie" appears, you haven't selected a starter yet.
Start the Clock
Press the big RED button in the center to begin warm-up
Button turns GREEN when the clock is running
Spacebar also works to start/stop
Pregame and period length should already be programmed
Recording a GOAL
1. Press Goal button (Away or Home side)
2. Enter goal scorer number
3. Enter 1st assist number
4. Enter 2nd assist number (or click No assist)
5. Tab auto-closes
π‘ Tip: Unknown scorers? Leave blank and fill in later from the Edit Game tab.
Recording a PENALTY
1. Press
Penalty button (Away or Home side)
2. Select player number who committed penalty
3. Choose penalty type:
- Common (Tripping, Holding, Roughing)
- Serious (Fighting, Boarding, Kicking)
- Uncommon (Broken Stick, etc.)
4. Select duration (2min / 5min / Major / Game Misconduct / etc)
5. System auto-sets time
π‘ Coincidental Penalties Trick: Press Hold Update first, enter both teams' penalties, then press Hold Update again to display all at once.
Recording SAVES (Shots on Goal)
1. Click Save button under the goalie (Away or Home side)
2. Number increments automatically
3. Left number = goals against | Right number = total shots on goal
π‘ Tip: Saves = shots on goal for the opposing team.
Recording TIMEOUTS
1. Press Timeout button (Away or Home side)
2. 60-second timer starts automatically
3. Button grays out when expired
4. Horn sounds at end
π‘ Tip: Can cancel if pressed by accident before timer endsβjust press the button again.
Utility Buttons
π¨ Hold Update
Batch multiple entries before displaying on scoreboard. Prevents constant updates.
π Notes
Record official or admin notes for infractions or incidents needing documentation.
π Mute
Silence all audio from the system if needed.
Game End Sequence
1. Clock Runs Out: Final buzzer sounds automatically. Period changes to "E". Red button becomes yellow "End Game".
2. Close Tabs: Close any open tabs except Clock, Edit Game, and Roster.
3. Press End Game: Click the yellow "End Game" button when ready to finalize.
4. Referee Signs: Pop-up asks for referee name. Referee enters name and clicks OK to certify.
5. Return to Menu: Game closes and returns to game selection. Game record is permanently saved.
Before Closing
- Verify all goals recorded correctly
- Check penalty times expired properly
- Confirm goalie changes are accurate
- Use Edit Game tab to make last-minute corrections
- All entries must be complete (can't have blank goal scorers)
Keyboard Shortcuts
SPACEBAR
Start/Stop clock β faster than clicking the Run button
Hold Update + Entries + Hold Update
Enter all penalties at once, then press Hold Update again to display (keeps scoreboard clean)
Mini Clock (bottom right)
Always visible and clickable from any tab. Use to pause/resume game clock anytime
Pro Tips
- Edit Game Tab is Your Friend: Don't start overβuse Edit, Insert, or Delete buttons to correct goals, penalties, or goalie changes
- Penalty Status: Red box = penalty on scoreboard | Yellow W = wait for stoppage | Green Release = player can exit penalty box
- Flags Button (Roster): Sets starting lineupβprevents crediting injured/scratched players
- G Button (Roster): Designates player as goalie. Must do before starting game
- Multiple Penalties: System auto-detects if player gets 4+ penalties in same game. Shows eject box automatically
Pulled Goalie
To pull goalie: Click on goalie name β Click "Empty Net" button
To put goalie back: Click on goalie name β Click "No Goalie" button β Select goalie name
